BRISTOL ROAD S.R. 2025, SECTION 001 Bensalem Township, Bucks County, PA
Transportation Resource Group, Inc. (TRG) was selected as part of the project team by PennDOT District 6-0, to determine the roadway and traffic signal improvements on the Bristol Road (S.R.2025), Section 001 Project. The project corridor extends approximately two miles between Old Lincoln Highway and Pasquolone Boulevard in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It is currently a two-lane urban, minor arterial roadway which provides access to important destinations such as the Neshaminy Mall, U.S. Route 1, and I-276 (PA Turnpike).
The purpose of the project is to provide improved access to and from local businesses and residential developments and facilitate economic growth in Bensalem Township. A key goal of the project is also to reduce congestion and delay, and increase traffic flow through the corridor. To satisfy these project goals, TRG was required to model traffic volumes to determine design year intersection volumes. Intersection analysis and optimization was performed using Synchro Software for the Bristol Road Corridor. TRG determined the necessary lane configuration to meet the project needs while maintaining a context sensitive design that is workable for PennDOT, the Township, stakeholders and impacted property owners.
The Bristol Road Project is in the final design stage and construction is tentatively slated for 2008. TRG will provide the signal design for six signalized intersections on the Bristol Road Corridor.
