PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT

For a large project to be successful, it is imperative to have the necessary support from the public and key stakeholders. The Transportation Resource Group, Inc. (TRG) Team has the excellent communication skills and public participation experience which is essential to spearheading the "buy-in" which is needed on specific projects. In order to gain acceptance of the project's goals and objectives, TRG will typically use a number of techniques and tools to advance the ideals of the project.

On these critical projects, our overall goals include interacting with and providing information to government and agency officials, public and key stakeholders, and receiving feedback from these groups. To accomplish this, the TRG Team can conduct a program that provides information in easily understood formats utilizing laymen's text and explanatory graphics to convey accurate information about the project. The latest technology (such as Synchro-SimTraffic visual traffic simulations or the utilization of high resolution aerial photography with GIS applications) within the field will be applied as appropriate to help our target audience better understand the issues.

TRG has had a key role in the public involvement phase on numerous, significant projects, such as:

  • Lewistown Narrows Project, PennDOT District 2-0
  • Juniata River Bridge Project, PennDOT District 2-0
  • PA Turnpike Access Project for the Greater New Stanton Area, Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission
  • I-83 Exits 18 and 19 Improvement Project, PennDOT District 8-0
  • George Street Two-Way Project, York City
